Even though Journey's Don't Stop Believin' was written in 1981, it's still being played, covered and talked about on television, in films and on tour 30 years later. The song, it turns out, is also the most-downloaded song in the 20th century, garnering more digital sales than Stairway to Heaven, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Like a Rolling Stone or Hey Jude. Since it's release off the 1981 Journey album Escape, Don't Stop Believin' lyrics have been etched into our consciousness by years of radio play. For three decades it has been the soundtrack for lonely people everywhere. One of the reasons the song has had such a long shelf life is its use in popular culture. Studio versions of the album have appeared in the final episode of the Sopranos and an episode of Scrubs, it was sung by the Family Guy cast, used in the video game Rock Band and played as a rally song during the 2005 championship run by the Chicago White Sox. How's that for milage?

With 22 members in 36 years, Journey is a very different band from when it started. Despite the changing line-up of Journey band members, the band has been able to maintain its signature sound. The latest change on lead vocals occurred in 2006 when Journey band lead singer Steve Augeri had to leave to deal with a chronic throat infection. He was replaced with Internet YouTube sensation, Filipino singer Arnel Pineda who was covering Journey songs note for note in online videos. Fans say Pineda's vocals are a dead ringer for former singer Steve Perry. The longest running members of the band currently are Neil Shon and Jonathan Cain.

Journey band was formed in 1973 by members of the legendary rock group Santana. Journey band experienced the height of its popularity from the 1970s to 1987, during which time they released some of our favorite Journey songs and Journey lyrics including Open Arms, Wheel in the Sky, Lights, Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin, Any Way You Want It, Who's Cryin' Now, and Send Her My Love. Journey band disappeared for a few years then resurfaced in 2005 for their for their 30th anniversary tour and released an album called Generations where each of the band members traded lead singer duties on each song. The Journey tour schedule in 2008 was one of the highest grossing tours of that year.
